Juventus continue to work on three major sales but each comes with its own unique obstacles to overcome. Douglas Luiz, Timothy Weah and Dusan Vlahovic are all in talks to leave the club and have been considered dispensable by the Bianconeri leadership.
Luiz has interest from the Premier League, Weah is stuck between Juventus and Marseille and Vlahovic is in danger of being left on the fringes of the squad if he does not secure a departure.
A whole host of Premier League clubs have been linked with a move for Douglas Luiz. We covered reports this morning that claimed the Brazilian’s agents are set to meet in a crucial meeting with Juventus, as Everton, West Ham, Nottingham Forest and Manchester United have all been mentioned as potential suitors.
Other reports from Italy suggest that the 27-year-old would prefer a move to a top club, with the implication that a team playing in European football would be ideal.
Badou Sambague, the agent of Timothy Weah, accused one Juventus director of “creating problems” whilst the other two “work on solutions.”
Reports last week suggested that the current stumbling block was the difference between the Bianconeri’s demands and what Marseille were prepared to offer. Juventus are standing firm on their demands of €20 million for the American forward, whilst Roberto De Zerbi’s Marseille are only prepared to pay €15 million at a maximum.
Therefore, patience will likely be key in the deal as the two clubs, and the player and his increasingly frustrated agent, wait to see who will be first to budge.
Dusan Vlahovic has been placed up for sale for Juventus. After signing for the Bianconeri in January 2022, for €70 million plus €10 million in bonuses, the Serbian forward has failed to truly dazzle in Turin.
Milan have emerged as favourites to sign the player and last week reports claimed the player’s agent was set to meet with Juventus and the Rossoneri in key talks.
The striker himself added further fuel to the fire after Milan’s 4-2 friendly victory over Premier League champions Liverpool. Vlahovic liked an Instagram post from Rossoneri forward Rafael Leao, before quickly removing said like. Of course, this likely means nothing and could have been as much as a simple mistake but that didn’t stop speculation growing out of the incident.
