Monday’s reports confirm that Juventus are on the verge of sending young defender Jonas Rouhi to Jupiler Pro League side Westerlo on loan with an option to buy on what is the final day of the Belgian summer transfer window.

Juventus sanction Rouhi transfer with permanent option

The Serie A transfer window came to a close on September 1, but Italian sides are still able to sanction outgoing transfers to clubs whose transfer windows remain open. In Belgium, the window will shut at midnight on Monday, September 8.

According to reports from various outlets including Fabrizio Romano, Juventus and Belgian side Westerlo have an agreement in place over a deal for 21-year-old full-back Rouhi, who is set to leave the Old Lady on loan with an option to buy.

According to updates from Goal, a full agreement is in place and a medical is expected to happen within the next few hours.

It remains to be seen how much Westerlo’s buy-out clause will be worth. Juventus are expected to confirm the exact figures of the operation once the transfer is officially announced.

Rouhi has made six senior appearances for the Bianconeri in his career to date. He was handed his first-team debut in a cameo substitute appearance in Serie A by Thiago Motta last August.

He went on to make another four appearances in the league last season, including two starts against Genoa and Bologna in the first half of the campaign.
