PSG doesn’t want Donnarumma’s situation to turn into another Kylian Mbappé saga, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t AS). With his contract renewal stalled, the club reportedly chose Chevalier as its starting goalkeeper.
At the same time, Donnarumma and his camp are said to be seeking a move that guarantees regular playing time ahead of the World Cup. PSG are said to be open to letting him go, but prefer a sale since he’s in the final year of his contract.
Mbappé’s case reportedly set a tough precedent, and PSG are said to be firm in their negotiations. A loan might be possible, but the club are reportedly pushing for a permanent transfer.
That won’t be easy given Donnarumma’s salary and the high cost of a keeper from the reigning European champions. For now, Manchester United are reported to be the most likely destination.
Recently, journalist Ben Jacobs reported that PSG want £26 million for Donnarumma, with one year left on his contract, after deciding not to offer him a new deal.
