Kylian Mbappe-endorsed Manchester United target still prefers Juventus move despite UK calls – Romano

Manchester United need a new striker to reinforce the attack. The Red Devils have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. The duo are both great additions to the squad, but neither of them are natural number nines and don’t solve the issue for the club.

Rasmus Hojlund has led the line for the club in the past couple of campaigns. Since moving to England from Atalanta, things haven’t played out as expected. The young Dane has proven to be very inconsistent in front of goal and he has been an erratic finisher at best.

The club also signed Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna last summer, who really struggled in the number nine role. However, in the second half of the season, Ruben Amorim reinvented his position as an attacking midfielder and the Dutch attacker really came into his own before injury struck.

Randal Kolo Muani at the M16

This has opened up a slot for a new number nine at the M16, and one of the many names that the club are linked with is PSG striker Randal Kolo Muani. The player is currently out of the project under Luis Enrique at Parc des Princes and is available for a move this summer.

The French attacker spent the second half of the previous season on loan at Juventus, where he had a decent impact. Now, as per Fabrizio Romano, Randal Kolo Muani still prefers a move to the Italian club this summer, despite calls being made from United Kingdom for his services.

The 26-year-old attacker made a name for himself with his performances for Eintracht Frankfurt, which earned him a move to Paris. However, Enrique has played with a system that doesn’t use a conventional striker, which saw him slip down the pecking order.

A “very complete” striker

Kolo Muani has earned a lot of praise for his performances and Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe even labelled him as a striker who is “very complete”. Being endorsed by the French superstar is indeed a vindication of the 26-year-old’s talent and he would be a good addition to the Red Devils’ squad.

However, moves like these always come down to player preference. With the player wanting Juventus and the club willing to offer a loan with an obligation to buy, this is a transfer that should go through without much hassles. All Man Utd can do is be attentive to the situation and see how it plays out.
