Lazio are reportedly interested in Bournemouth right-back Max Aarons, who is spending the current campaign on loan at Rangers.

Maurizio Sarri may have been irritated by some of the club’s recent actions on the market, but at least Claudio Lotito and Angelo Fabiani managed to renew the contract of Adam Marusic, one of the head coach’s old favorites.

But even with the Montenegrin lingering at Formello, Lazio might need reinforcement on the right flank, with Elseid Hysaj destined to leave the club once his contract expires at the end of the season, and Manuel Lazzari facing an uncertain future. In any case, the squad could certainly do with a younger profile in this department.

According to circulating reports in Turkiye and Italy, also reported by Il Corriere dello Sport (via TuttoMercatoWeb), Lazio are eyeing a move for Aarons, who should be on the market next summer. The London native is a Norwich youth product who has been on Bournemouth’s books since the summer of 2023.

The 26-year-old’s time at Vitality Stadium hasn’t panned out too well. Last January, he was sent to Valencia for a brief spell, before joining Rangers on loan for the 2025/26 campaign. Aarons has been playing regularly for the Scottish giants, making 26 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal in the process.

The player’s contract with Bournemouth remains valid until June 2029, but the club will likely attempt to cash in on his services once and for all. Interestingly, Lazio and the Cherries’ market plans have intertwined lately, as they’ve been vying for common targets, namely Ferencvaros midfielder Alex Toth, and Vasco da Gama teenager Rayan.

In addition to the Englishman, the source mentions Anton Gaaei as an alternative right-back option for next summer. The 23-year-old is a Danish international who has been plying his trade at Ajax since 2023. Lazio have been monitoring the full-back since last year, and they could try to pounce on their good relationship with Ajax, which they utilized to pull off a swift deal for Kenneth Taylor last week.
