Over the last few weeks and months, Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with several forwards across Europe. This is perhaps down to the fact that the club bosses are planning to reinforce the attacking unit during this transfer window.
There is no surprise that Spurs are looking to add a new striker to their ranks for next season. With club-record signing Dominic Solanke enduring an average debut campaign, and Richarlison failing to put behind his injury troubles, Daniel Levy and Co. are ready to invest on a No.9 for the second summer running.
Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz has been among the players to have the North London club’s attention. They are set to make an enquiry for the Brazilian, who would be open to leaving Craven Cottage if coach Marco Silva departs for a new adventure.
The 24-year-old has had to operate as a back-up to Raul Jimenez, yet delivered eight goals and an assist in 31 Premier League appearances this past term. Following his impactful appearances off the bench, the Cottagers value Rodrigo Muniz at around £50m. While Spurs would like to have a striker of Muniz’s profile to cover and compete with Solanke, their pursuit of the Fulham man will not be straightforward.
This is because newly-promoted Leeds United are keen on signing him. According to an exclusive report from Football Insider, the Whites are lining up a bid for Muniz. The South American centre-forward has emerged as a target for Daniel Farke’s club ahead of their return to the top flight.
Daniel Farke is not willing to count only on Joel Piroe, last season’s Championship top scorer to lead the attack for his team during the 2025/26 campaign. The Leeds United boss has question marks over Piroe’s capability to make the step up from the Championship to the Premier League. Thus, he wants an experienced striker from the top flight to boost his attacking unit and the Whites’ chances of survival.
Following their promotion, the Leeds owners will try to be as ambitious as possible and make some eye-catching signings. Muniz has emerged as one of their targets, but Tottenham must aim to get him from their London counterparts. Under prospective new boss Thomas Frank, Spurs will look to rebuild the squad with high-profile acquisitions following their return to the Champions League.
A wily, Premier League tactician, Thomas Frank would love to work with a physically intimidating, quick and powerful striker in Muniz. Plus, the Brazilian could be tempted to play in the Champions League with Spurs rather than fight for survival at Leeds.
That said, if Spurs hold concrete interest in the Fulham star, we must make our move quickly as Leeds are lining up a bid.
