Lewis Hall missing from Newcastle United training

Lewis Hall has been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer as the club aim to strengthen in key positions before the start of the new season.

The 21-year-old left-back, of Newcastle United, made 30 Premier League appearances last season, scoring once and providing one assist, as the Toon Army finished 12th.

CentreDevils first exclusively reported that Manchester United had contacted representatives of Hall earlier this summer to discuss the possibility of a move.

Further reports have suggested that the full-back is open to leaving Newcastle United this summer although he has already rejected a move to Chelsea.

Newcastle United, on the other hand, have rejected an approach from Manchester United for the 21-year-old as they aim to keep him for the new season.

Now, as rumours circulate about what’s next, The Athletic have reported that Lewis Hall was missing from training with Newcastle’s squad in Spain due to a minor injury.

The outlet have also stated that he was returned to Tyneside to train separately at The Knox, Newcastle’s training facility, over the coming week.

Whilst the minor nature of the injury should not hinder a possible move from Manchester United for the full-back, the news of it may have concerned some initially.

Focus from those at Newcastle will now switch towards ensuring that Lewis Hall is fully fit to start the Premier League season in the coming weeks.

No timeline has been set out for Hall’s return from the injury although, with a minor severity, it is likely that he will be back for the start of the coming season.

Newcastle United start their Premier League campaign against Liverpool on Sunday August 23rd and face Tottenham Hotspur following that on Saturday August 29th.

Prior to that, the side face Valencia, Everton, Leverkusen, and Strasbourg in pre-season.
