Messi enjoyed an incredible 2025 with MLS side Inter Miami. He became the fastest player to reach 40 goals in league history and took home the Golden Boot with 29 regular-season goals scored.
He captured a second MLS MVP, becoming the first player to take home the award in back-to-back seasons.
The 38-year-old forward led the Herons to victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps at the 2025 MLS Cup final. His two-assist performance earned him the MLS Cup MVP.
Messi will shoot for more trophies and triumphs in 2026. It's possible that he could inspire Miami to consecutive MLS Cup wins and lead Argentina to back-to-back World Cup victories.
