It’s been nearly two years since arguably the greatest soccer player of all time left Europe to join an Inter Miami CF side that played its first-ever season in 2020.
Lionel Messi wasn't happy at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), and while a return to Barcelona was off the table, he felt it was time to "live football in another way."
"After winning the World Cup and not being able to return to Barcelona, it was my turn to go to the league of the United States to live football in another way," Messi said.
Inter Miami currently plays in Fort Lauderdale, but the club is set to make a long-term move to Miami once its new stadium is completed. With a target season of 2026, Messi is already looking ahead.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the 37-year-old decided to buy four condos, which are now under contract at the Cipriani Residences Miami. The luxury building, located at 1420 South Miami Avenue, is still under construction until 2028.
Although the prices for three of the units remain unknown, the fourth and largest one—part of the luxurious Canaletto Collection—starts at $7.5 million.
Messi already owns multiple homes in South Florida, and despite his contract with Inter Miami being up after this season, it's clear he intends to remain in the Sunshine State.
