Lionel Messi’s Sister Hospitalized Following Serious Accident, Wedding Plans Delayed

According to reports from The Daily Mirror, Lionel Messi's sister, Maria Sol Messi, was involved in a serious traffic accident.

Maria Sol Messi reportedly lost control of her car after fainting, which led to her crashing into a wall. The report suggests that Messi's sister fractured her vertebrae, heel, and wrist, as well as suffered burns.

Maria Sol Messi returned to Rosario, Argentina, to begin her rehabilitation. This happened just a few weeks before her reported planned wedding with Julian Arellano, the youth coach of Inter Miami.

The wedding is now postponed as it was reportedly scheduled for January 3, 2026. Messi and his family are receiving lots of wishes and prayers under his comments section on his social media pages.

In an interview with New York Style Guidein 2022, Maria explained her role in Messi's fashion brand.

Maria Sol Messi said, "What I try and do at The Messi Store is to channel the brand’s vision and be the link between the ideas, the work we carry out and the way in which Leo himself, as the brand ambassador, thinks and dresses. I put in a lot of effort to be able to work on this project, which is so special for my family and I."

Maria Sol Messi also launched 'Shine and Love', her own bikini swimsuit collection.
