Recently Peter Crouch invited Steve Sidwell to his podcast, That Peter Crouch Podcast. The two regularly collaborated and discussed English football at length. Recently Crouch and Sidwell met and discussed who would consist of their top five strikers in the Premier League.

Peter Crouch went first, and picked Brentford’s Ivan Toney. Toney had missed a majority of the season, returning to play in January. Since his return, the England international has played nine games and scored four.

Steve Sidwell chose Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins at four. Watkins has had an incredible season so far, scoring 21 goals and assisting 10 times. One of the most highly rated players as of now, even earning a call-up for the England national team recently.

Third came Tottenham Hotspur captain, Son Heung-min. Son did not have a good season in 2022/23, managing only 14 goals in 47 appearances. In the current season, he has already matched his goal tally, playing 22 games.

In a surprise selection, Erling Haaland was picked at number two. Ever since joining Manchester City, the Norwegian forward has scored 81 goals in 86 matches, averaging a goal every 85 minutes.

At the top was Liverpool winger, Mohamed Salah. Despite him being a winger, the Egyptian has been one of the best goal scorers in the league. He won the Premier League Golden Boot thrice since 2017.
