All is not rosy in London as an injury to Liam Delap has derailed the plans of striker Nicolas Jackson. The player was in Germany to finalise a loan move to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich but the deal has now collapsed as the Blues called the attacker back. Despite that, he does still appear to be on the market and Liverpool may have just opened an exit door.

Liverpool Transfer Could Open Nicolas Jackson Exit Door

Jackson Wants Out

Chelsea had to call off a loan deal for the attacker following the injury to Delap, despite their best attempts, the Senegal international refused to come back and stayed in Germany in the hopes a deal could be agreed. With the Bavarians now calling the move off on their side, it leaves the Premier League side with an unhappy player who likely won’t want to suit back up in blue.

With Marc Guiu also being recalled from his own loan at Sunderland, it seems like a permanent move for Jackson will be the end result. Bayern weren’t able or willing to pay the fee to sign him permanently but the hope from the English team is that they’ll find a suitor on deadline day.

Liverpool Opened a Door

According to Jacob Steinberg, the Reds may cause a domino effect that sees the Senegal man move to a direct Premier League rival. Per Steinberg, Newcastle are now eyeing the attacker as a “replacement” for Alexander Isak should his move to Liverpool go through.

With the fee paid for the Swede, they should be able to reinvest in another attacker like Jackson despite already dropping a hefty amount on Nick Woltemade. Eddie Howe played two up front in their most recent match, meaning he could be looking to experiment with a two-striker system. Even if not, having a Premier League-quality backup to an unproven signing would be ideal for the Magpies.
