Liverpool reportedly drove the price up for one of Chelsea’s new signings in the summer window that just passed.
There’s been plenty of different claims made and loads of transfer dramas unfold in the last few months and it especially got very messy on transfer deadline day that was actually just a week ago today.
The Nicolas Jackson situation took over the news involving Chelsea at least, and it’s still bubbling up and going on now as well.
Jackson has joined Bayern Munich on loan with an obligation to buy after all that drama in the final two days of the window. But a Bayern board member claimed yesterday that for the obligation to kick in, Jackson must start 40 games for them this season, which of course is basically going to be impossible!
One of the reps of Jackson who speaks way too much, has posted a response to that on his Instagram account basically suggesting that it is untrue. Oh what drama, aren’t we all having fun!?
But anyway, this story is another another transfer story that Chelsea were involved in the summer.
Apparently Liverpool might have been used to drive the price up of Joao Pedro joining Chelsea!
As cited by SPTC today, The Daily Mail’s Liverpool reporter, Lewis Steele has said:
“Earlier on in the window, Joao Pedro was on the list, or was offered to Liverpool at some point earlier on in the year.
“Paul Barber, who is the Brighton CEO, was going around telling other parties that Liverpool were interested. That was maybe Liverpool being used to drive up the market for Pedro, before he went to Chelsea.”
I’m sure this probably did happen you know because this sort of stuff happens all the time in the wonderful world of football transfers and lies!
