Real Madrid take on Liverpool in the Champions League on November 4, looking to make it four wins from four and have a statement win in the elite European competition.

Head coach Xabi Alonso has one new injury concern for one of his summer signings. Before taking off to England, it was reported that forward Franco Mastantuono would not travel with the squad as he was suffering from a groin injury. It was not 100% he would start, but he would have indeed featured at some point in the game.

He now joins Dani Carvajal, Antonio Rudiger, and David Alaba on the injury list. The big question there is who will start at right-back? Former Liverpool player Trent Alexander-Arnold could start, but due to his lack of playing time since he returned from injury, it's likely to be Fede Valverde again.

Here is how Xabi Alonso could line his side up against the Premier League champions.

GK: Thibault Courtois - Back-to-back clean sheets for the Belgian, and he will also be looking for three consecutive ones in the Champions League.

RB: Fede Valverde - The midfielder should continue at right-back with Dani Carvajal still injured and Trent Alexander-Arnold still lacking minutes since his return.

CB: Eder Militao - The Brazilian may not have been the first choice at the start of the season, but with an injury to Antonio Rudiger, he is taking his chance and could well be now.

CB: Dean Huijsen - Huijsen has formed an excellent partnership with Militao, but both will be tested against a strong Liverpool forward line.

LB: Álvaro Carreras - The 22-year-old scored his first goal for the club, and it was a wonder strike. He may not be able to push forward as much as usual against Liverpool.

CDM: Eduardo Camavinga - Alonso could go with two holding midfielders as he did against Barcelona. Camavinga excelled in that role and could come in against another top team.

CDM: Aurélien Tchouaméni - The Frenchman has arguably been the most improved player under Xabi Alonso and does plenty of the unnoticed work during games.

RM: Arda Guler - With the injury to Franco Mastantuono, Guler may play more from the right side. However, Brahim Diaz could also be an option.

CM: Jude Bellingham - Three goals in three games for Bellingham, and he looks to be firing once again. He could be utilized to play just behind Mbappe.

LW: Vinicius Jr. - Despite missing the penalty against Valencia, Vini Jr. still had an impressive game. Still not always at his best, but we are seeing splashes of the best version of the Brazilian.

ST: Kylian Mbappé - Another two goals for Mbappe takes him to 18 goals in 14 games in all competitions. That includes five goals in three games in the Champions League.
