Lucas Paqueta makes shock statement on West Ham future after denying move to Aston Villa

The announcement came just days after Paqueta scored from the spot and celebrated in front of fans following a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

However, the Brazilian playmaker responded with his performance on the pitch, mocking Romano’s reports with a celebration that included a phone gesture followed by dismissing it before turning to kiss the badge in front of fans.

But his stay at the London-based side now looks short-lived.

But it looks like he will not be sticking around that long.

The midfielder has released a 59-word statement suggesting this will be his last season with the club.

Taking to Instagram, the Brazilian playmaker explained that he plans to leave next summer. Hammers fans now have one more season to enjoy watching him in action before he moves on.

Paqueta spoke about what led him to stay in east London after going through a difficult period in his life and career, mentioning how much the support from the club and fans meant to him during those times.

“It’s about choosing those who welcomed you, who never judged you, who believed in you until the very last moment, who loved you and made you feel at home.

“It’s about staying loyal not only when you had everything, but also when there was nothing.

“It’s not time to say goodbye yet!

“Let’s go together for one more season!”
