Bologna are eager to keep Jhon Lucumi, but while Sunderland and Bournemouth push closer to the €25m asking price, his agent meets with Atletico Madrid.

The Rossoblu had been determined to keep hold of most of their squad for this season after selling Sam Beukema to Napoli.

That is proving difficult, as Dan Ndoye is the subject of a bidding war between Napoli and Nottingham Forest, while Lucumi is also targeted by several different sides.

Lucumi has plenty of options

According to Il Resto del Carlino newspaper, via Tuttomercatoweb, Bournemouth are keeping a close eye on the situation, but Sunderland are the most enthusiastic about the centre-back.

They are ready to put forward a new proposal worth €20m plus €2m in add-ons to convince Bologna into selling the Colombia international.

However, the same source also reports that his agent is currently in Spain and having meetings with Atletico Madrid and Villarreal, who are both in search of a left-footed defender.

Lucumi just turned 27 last month and his contract with Bologna only runs to June 2026, so the club must either sell or lock him down to a new deal.
