PSG have finally won the Champions League, as they defeated Inter Milan 5-0 in Munich. This is a trophy PSG have been after for more than a decade, and they needed Luis Enrique at the helm to guide them to glory.
This historic win puts the Spanish manager in the history books of Champions League glory. Enrique becomes the second manager to win a treble for two different clubs. Pep Guardiola won a treble with FC Barcelona (2009) and Manchester City (2023).
Enrique won the treble with PSG this season, now with the securing of the Champions League trophy. He won the treble with FC Barcelona in 2015. PSG is now the ninth club to win a treble in Europe.
Enrique's second Champions League trophy as a manager is an achievement not many coaches have done in the past, especially coaching two different teams.
Coaches like Carlo Ancelotti, Pep Guardiola, and Jose Mourinho are some of the few coaches to win the UCL title with two different clubs. Enrique is the sixth manager to win the Champions League with two clubs

Luis Enrique suffered a personal loss in 2019 when his youngest daughter, Xana Martinez, passed away at nine years old. Enrique's daughter was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer, osteosarcoma.
She passed away in late August 2019 after battling the disease for five months. Enrique has been open about remembering his daughter throughout the season, and winning the Champions League Final was dedicated to her.

The PSG fans also dedicated a tifo for Enrique and his daughter. It was an emotional day for PSG and Luis Enrique, as they lifted the club's Champions League trophy.
The image has a special story to it as it relates to Enrique celebrating the Champions League trophy with his daughter in 2015, as the FC Barcelona coach.
Luis Enrique: "I remember an incredible photo I have with Xana, after winning the Champions League, planting a Barcelona flag on the field. I have the desire to do the same with PSG. My daughter won’t be there physically, but she will be spiritually. And that, for me, is very important.”
