Manchester United 2027/28 away kit details leaked

With under a year remaining until the new season gets underway, the first details about the Manchester United 2027/28 away kit have been leaked.

United’s away kit for this season, primarily blue, was debuted against Rosenberg in pre-season after being official unveiled to the public in July.

That kit, which was directly inspired by the club’s 1988 away kit featuring a similar royal blue colour scheme, features a flowing wave pattern in tribute to River Irwell whilst also displaying the Manchester United logo, as expected.

Much attention has already been focused towards next season, however, even with United just four games into the current campaign.

Details about the 2027/28 home kit have already been leaked to the public, providing them with a first insight of what the jersey could look like when it is revealed next summer.

Footy Headlines have now published details relating to next season’s away kit with the outlet stating that the shirt will feature an off-white base, which is officially called Ecru Tint.

The publication have also stated that, whilst there is no knowledge of what the accent colours will be yet, the kit will take great lengths in an attempt to display cultural storytelling.

That storytelling, which is set to pay homage to Northern Soul music and dance movements that helped to shape Manchester’s subcultural identity, will fall central to this kit’s design, according to Footy Headlines.

Similarities between the details for United’s home and away kits for next season are already apparent with a clear focus on paying tribute to Manchester’s history falling in line with both designs.

Whilst Adidas are using the home kit to pay tribute to Manchester’s industrial roots through patterns, the brand are using the away kit to pay tribute to the city’s music and dance scene.

Through creating influential and meaningful kits that both look aesthetically pleasing whilst delivering a wider message of importance to Manchester’s history, Adidas and Manchester United are able to create kits that mean a lot to supporters.
