Manchester United facing significant hurdles in their pursuit of Ruben Amorim favourite

Opinion: What should United do?

To be honest, United should waste no time in at least making a move for Hjulmand. It won’t be easy to break Sporting’s no, but the team’s need is so great that it makes sense to try. Amorim’s long-standing relationship could make the deal a little easier, as his trust in the player is proven and can make a difference on a personal level. The Dane’s leadership and presence on the pitch could inject life into United’s midfield, as Casemiro is way past his prime.

However, it’s also true that United shouldn’t rely on just one player. The club need to look for options that can provide both aggression and creativity. But at the moment, if there’s one name that fits both Amorim’s vision and United’s need, it’s Hjulmand. It’s a tough deal, but it could be the right direction to go.
