Manchester United are set to sanction another summer departure.
One of their goalkeepers is now understood to have agreed a move to Turkish side Besiktas.
As the club prepares for a significant rebuild ahead of next season, changes between the sticks appear increasingly likely.
The goalkeeper is Altay Bayindir, who has reportedly agreed personal terms with Besiktas ahead of a proposed transfer.
According to the Daily Mail, discussions are ongoing between the clubs, with a deal expected to be finalised once a fee is agreed.
This development comes amid broader changes within United’s goalkeeping department.
The club brought in Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp last summer.
The young shot-stopper has impressed in his opportunities, further increasing competition and influencing decisions around squad depth.
Bayindir, who joined Manchester United from Fenerbache in the summer of 2023, has largely operated as a back-up option during his time at Old Trafford.
Limited opportunities have made it difficult for the Turkish international to establish himself, and a return to his home country now appears to offer a clearer pathway to regular first-team football.
There had also been suggestions last month that United were exploring a potential swap deal involving Wilfred Ndidi and Bayindir with Besiktas.
This highlights the ongoing dialogue between the two clubs.
While that specific arrangement remains uncertain, negotiations surrounding Bayindir’s exit have clearly progressed.
From a strategic perspective, this move aligns with United’s expected summer overhaul.
Bayindir’s departure would mark the end of a relatively quiet spell at Old Trafford.
United would free up space within the squad.
The 28-year-old’s most famous game for Manchester United came at the Emirates against Arsenal in the 2024/25 FA Cup third round.
The Turkish goalkeeper made six saves before the penalty shoot-out, including a crucial save to deny a Martin Odegaard penalty.
He then went on to save Kai Havertz’s penalty in the shoot-out, helping the Red Devils progress to the fourth round, earning himself the Man of the Match award.
As talks continue, the deal looks increasingly straightforward – and one that reflects a broader shift in United’s squad planning heading into the new season.
