Manchester United have wasted little time in starting their summer business, but the deals don’t look likely to stop there’.

It’s already been a promising window for Ruben Amorim and his backroom team, particularly after the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.

Add in the likely arrival of Bryan Mbeumo and United could feasibly say they are bringing in two of the Premier League’s most in-form forwards into their ranks.

Mbeumo’s deal is almost done and United are looking at further additions, with the right wing-back position now being seriously considered.

Man United expect Tyler Dibling’s price to be cut to £50m

Tyler Dibling is a player who the Red Devils are thinking about and after being quoted £100m, it’s now suggested that the deal could see that value more than halved.

Dibling had been looked at by United earlier this year. But the £100m price tag always looked excessive – especially after Southampton’s relegation.

And speaking on The United Stand, Ben Jacobs has suggested that price could come right down in the coming weeks, making it a deal Wilcox might revisit.

The journalist made the point that while £40m would still be a big outlay for a player with Dibling’s experience, the fact that Wilcox is so keen on his potential could make the price palatable.

“I think later in the window there is a chance the right side is strengthened by United and there are market opportunities out there. Tyler Dibling is a player Jason Wilcox really appreciates and now he is running the show. Tottenham will likely be there for Dibling as well.

“I say market opportunity and I stress those words because you’ll hear a lot of ‘Dibling not for sale’ or ‘Dibling is a £100m player’, but the perspective of clubs who are interested in Dibling is that in a few weeks time, Southampton will drop their asking price to below £50m. Tottenham believe it could be as low as £40m, so that would be money United need to find.”

Man United could benefit from Southampton’s Championship status

Dibling’s stats from last term weren’t fantastic. He only managed 12 games in the top flight, but did score two and grab an assist. Southampton’s relegation could also play into United’s hands here, with the club under pressure to raise funds soon, which could make Dibling a long-term bargain.

It’s been a busy old summer for Manchester United and with Bryan Mbeumo still to be rubber-stamped as a new signing, the deals aren’t finished yet.

Excitement at the club is growing, but fans will be keen to see if Amorim and Wilcox can get new faces through the door in the coming weeks.

Manchester United also need to sell players. And if the club can cash in on names such as Jadon Sancho and Antony, then a spot for Dibling may well open up.
