Manchester United are expected to complete two more signings on Friday as preparations for the 2026/27 season continue to gather pace.
Strengthening the midfield has been the club’s priority throughout the summer transfer window.
Michael Carrick is eager to add quality and depth ahead of a campaign that includes Champions League football.
Earlier this week, Manchester United reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Andrey Santos in a deal worth an initial £48 million plus £2 million in add-ons.
The Red Devils also reached an agreement with Atalanta for the signing of Ederson.
However, reports have suggested that a thorough medical is still ongoing and the move could still collapse.
According to Sky Sports, Manchester United are expected to complete the signings of Andrey Santos and Karl Darlow on Friday.
The report states that both players have successfully passed their medicals and already agreed personal terms with the club.
Santos and Darlow are now expected to arrive at Carrington on Friday to formally sign their contracts before joining up with the squad ahead of next week’s full return to pre-season training.
Darlow is set to arrive on a free transfer following the expiry of his Leeds United contract.
The experienced 35-year-old goalkeeper has been identified as the ideal backup to Senne Lammens following Altay Bayindir’s expected departure.
He made 22 Premier League appearances last season.
Meanwhile, Andrey Santos is expected to become one of United’s marquee additions of the summer after an impressive campaign with Chelsea and Brazil.
Sky Sports add that United remain hopeful of completing Ederson’s transfer in the coming days if the remaining medical process is completed successfully.
Should all three deals be finalised, Carrick will receive another significant boost before competitive action gets underway later this month.
