Manchester United are expected to see further changes in their attacking department this summer as Michael Carrick continues shaping his squad for the 2026/27 campaign.

Joshua Zirkzee is among the players who could leave Old Trafford before the transfer window closes after struggling for regular football.

Multiple Serie A clubs have continued to monitor his situation following an underwhelming spell in England.

While attention has largely focused on potential first-team departures, important developments have also been taking place behind the scenes involving one of the club’s forwards.

United have continued investing in the future at Carrington.

They have ensured that the academy remains a key part of the club’s long-term plans.

United attacker joins McHale Sports

Manchester United academy forward Edson DeJonge-Seiros has officially signed with McHale Sports, with the agency confirming the news on Instagram.

The agency wrote: “We are delighted to have signed Edson to our agency and to negotiate his first deal with @manutd.”

The announcement comes only days after DeJonge-Seiros officially become one of United’s newest academy scholars.

On 8 July, the Red Devils announced that 15 youngsters had signed first-year scholarships at Old Trafford.

Edson DeJonge-Seiros was among the new intake beginning the next stage of their development.

The versatile attacker has been with Manchester United since Under-6 level and is regarded as one of the club’s most promising academy prospects.

Earlier this month, DeJonge-Seiros also confirmed on Instagram that he had signed his scholarship agreement with United.

That moment marked another significant milestone in his journey through the academy.

Capable of playing as a centre-forward, winger or attacking midfielder, the youngster has impressed coaches with his versatility and technical ability.

By joining McHale sports, DeJonge-Seiros now has professional representation as he continues working towards earning opportunities higher up the academy system.

While the headlines this summer have centred on first-team transfers, Manchester United continue placing significant emphasis on developing young talent.

For DeJonge-Seiros, signing with McHale Sports represents another important step in what has already been a memorable summer.
