Milan are tending to a few sales at the moment, but the plan is to close the window with at least three more acquisitions, despite their lengthy lull. Fikayo Tomori and David Odogu have been frozen out, so a new center-back is necessary, La Gazzetta dello Sport relays.
Gonçalo Inacio has become a more complicated target, as Sporting CP have already sold Ousmane Diomande to Nottingham Forest and Morten Hjulmand to Atletico Madrid. The next man on the Rossoneri’s shortlist is Tiago Gabriel. Lecce recently turned down a €20M offer from Benfica. He’s represented by Jorge Mendes.
Milan have set their sights on Nicola Zalewski, whose versatility would be useful. His price tag is around €15/20M, and he doesn’t have a precise role in Maurizio Sarri’s scheme. On the other hand, Atalanta are dealing with a few injuries and haven’t signed any new attackers yet.
The Rossoneri have also been offered Lazio’s Nuno Tavares, who’s on his way out but closer to Porto, and Fiorentina’s Dodo, who has a short-term contract. The Viola already added three fullbacks this summer. He could be a late bargain.
As for the attack, they tabled a loan with a €40M option to buy for Ethan Nwaneri, but they were repelled. He’ll leave, but not for those terms. Among the fallbacks, Midtjylland’s Dario Osorio is more approachable than Roma’s Matias Soulé.
They are way into overtime with their moves, but they have proven they can be swift when they want to be. Their numerous outcasts are the elephant in the room, as they need a pair of exits to get going. A couple more specialists wouldn’t hurt.
