Scott McTominay is on the verge of returning to action with Napoli after missing out on a pre-season friendly victory over LaLiga side Osasuna on Wednesday evening, the latest reports confirm.
Napoli picked up a 2-1 victory over Osasuna on Wednesday evening thanks to goals from Matteo Politano and Lorenzo Lucca at the Teofilo Patini Stadium in Castel di Sangro.
Massimiliano Allegri had to do without Scotland international McTominay, who had withdrawn from training a few days earlier due to pain that he was feeling in his left foot.
The former Manchester United midfielder had been training individually in the days since he reported the issue with his foot, which also ruled him out of the friendly against Osasuna on Wednesday.
According to the latest updates from Gianluca Di Marzio, however, McTominay returned to training with the rest of the first-team group on Thursday and is currently expected to be part of the squad for Napoli’s remaining pre-season tests of the summer.
It is a similar situation for Rafa Marin, who was unable to take part against Osasuna on Wednesday, but has returned to training on Thursday.
Napoli’s Serie A season will kick off away against Genoa on August 22.
