Napoli have officially confirmed that defender Natan has been sold on a permanent basis to LaLiga side Real Betis after a two-year association with the Partenopei.
The Brazilian centre-back joined Betis on loan for the 2024-25 season with an option to buy, which has since been activated, the clubs have confirmed.
Reports at the time of Natan’s loan move to Betis claimed that the option to buy clause was worth €9m to Napoli.
That means that Antonio Conte’s side recoup 90% of the €10m fee they reportedly paid to sign him from RB Bragatino in the summer of 2023, in the aftermath of Kim Min-jae’s departure for Bayern Munich.
Natan has been on Napoli’s books since the start of the 2023-24 season , but had to settle for just 13 Serie A appearances in a turbulent first campaign, which brought a conveyor belt of coaches, namely Rudi Garcia, Walter Mazzarri and Francesco Calzona.
The Brazilian was allowed to leave on loan following the appointment of Antonio Conte at the beginning of the victorious 2024-25 campaign.
That loan move has since been made permanent after an encouraging season in LaLiga, during which Natan made 31 top-flight appearances, helping Betis to a sixth-place finish and a spot in next season’s Europa League.
