Manchester United are reportedly on the cusp of welcoming their second summer signing in the form of Valencia starlet Javi Guerra.
In a completely out-of-the-blue update this morning, reputable journalist Daniele Longo claims the 22-year-old is ‘close’ to joining United.
Currently, it remains to be seen what kind of fee or terms the prospective deal entails.
A versatile box-to-box midfielder, Guerra has been plying his trade with Valencia since 2019, but didn’t break into the first-team until 2022.
He has since racked up a whopping 89 senior appearances for the Spanish outfit, including 65 starts in La Liga, where he’s returned eight goals and four assists.
Guerra, who’s earned 21 caps for Spain’s U21S, has attracted interest across Europe for his stellar showings – so much so that he agreed a move to Atletico Madrid this time last year. However, the transfer failed to materialise after Conor Gallagher accepted Atleti’s proposal and severed his 18-year ties with Chelsea.
Arsenal have been credited as one of his suitors this summer in a bid to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s midfield ranks, although they’ve yet to make a formal approach or submit a proposal.
