France gaffer Didier Deschamps has left Inter Milan talisman Marcus Thuram out of his France squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

According to FCInterNews, Deschamps has omitted the 28-year-old from his team due to injury.

Marcus Thuram had to come off against Slavia Prague on Tuesday after suffering a thigh problem in the second half.

Despite the Frenchman’s encouraging post-match statement, the injury seems more serious than initially feared.

France will resume their pursuit of World Cup qualification later this month.

Indeed, Deschamps’ charges take on Azerbaijan and Iceland in the latest set of qualifying fixtures.

After winning their opening two Group D outings, Les Bleus are in pole position to lock down a berth in next summer’s tournament.

However, Thuram will not be part of the squad this month.

Instead, the former Borussia Monchengladbach ace will stay at Appiano Gentile to work on his recovery.

Meanwhile, Ange-Yoan Bonny will likely take his place in attack on Saturday, when Inter Milan take on Cremonese at home.
