It’s a new season for Inter Milan, yet last year’s problems still linger.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, Inter’s wastefulness in front of goal remains a glaring issue.
Cristian Chivu has got his Serie A tenure off to a mixed start.
Indeed, Inter won twice in their opening four league outings, losing the other two.
As a result, they already trail defending champions and current pacesetters Napoli by six points.
Inter returned to winning ways with a 2-1 win over Sassuolo on Monday.
However, the Nerazzurri only scored once, with Tarik Muharemovic bagging a late own goal.
That’s despite they generated 20 shots, including six on target,
Furthermore, in five competitive games under Chivu, Inter have mustered a total of 88 shots, averaging 17.6 per match.
Worryingly, only 13 have found their way into the back of the net, accounting for a dismal 15% conversion rate.
Lautaro Martinez has not been at his best, which is part of the problem.
Indeed, El Toro has only scored once so far.
