Yves Bissouma could yet depart Tottenham Hotspur this summer

Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed an exciting summer transfer window, which was concluded on quite a high. The window saw the Lilywhites bringing in some exciting talents to the roster at Hotspur Way although while incomings were not a problem, the outgoings didn’t quite go to plan yet with Yves Bissouma being the most obvious example.

Bissouma could still leave Tottenham this summer

The Mali international was lined up with a move to Galatasaray in what was a £20m transfer but the move didn’t quite come through with the Turkish giants holding some concerns about his fitness. And now while the Premier League transfer window has come to its closure, the North Londoners can still end up finding a new home for the former Brighton midfielder.

According to the latest report from GiveMeSport the 29-year-old is said to be attracting interest from Saudi and Turkish clubs and they can still make a move for him given how their window is still open. That lifeline could spare Tottenham the prospect of losing him for free next summer, while giving the player a fresh start after slipping down the pecking order under Thomas Frank.

Bissouma has dropped down the pecking order at Tottenham

The Malian appeared 44 times for the North Londoners under Ange Postecoglou’s tutelage in the last season which includes ten (10) the Europa League but then Thomas Frank has come to the helm at N17 now and now that has left him on the sidelines waiting to be shipped off. Given that there are likes of Joao Palhinha, Rodrigo Bentancur, Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray ahead of him in the pecking order leaving the former Brighton man surplus to requirements at Hotspur Way. And that was underlined by his omission from the North Londoners’ Champions League squad and that reflects how he has went down the order at Hotspur Way.

While when he joined, Biss was seen quite as someone who has the capacity to anchor the midfield at Hotspur Way for a while and more, lets be honest, the Malian has never fully been convincing since he joined from Brighton. While we saw a bit of flashes here and there but there was a consistent inconsistency which raises questions around his time at N17.

At this stage, it does look like Bissouma would end up leaving Tottenham this summer. And the North Londoners would recoup a decent fee for his signatures and this would also mean that Frank would only have players in his roster that he clearly believes in.
