Tottenham Hotspur are looking to improve their attacking unit in the coming months, and they have identified the Porto striker Samu Aghehowa as a target.

The 21-year-old has been outstanding for the Portuguese club since joining them from Atletico Madrid, and he is one of the finest young attacking talents in European football right now.

Tottenham recently confirmed the return of Fabio Paratici, and he is set to lead their pursuit of the Spanish striker. According to TBR Football, the Italian has already started working on moves to improve Thomas Frank’s squad.

It is no secret that they need a quality striker, and Aghehowa would be a solid long-term acquisition. However, he has a £87 million release clause in his contract, and Porto will have to be reasonable with their demands for the move to go through. Tottenham will not want to pay a premium for him.

The report claims that the Portuguese outfit is likely to sanction his departure for a reasonable amount of money because of the financial problems. They are looking to raise funds by selling some of their key players.

The 21-year-old is a youth international with Spain, and he has done exceedingly well for club and country. He has 10 goals in 12 games this season.

He helped Spain win the gold medal in the Olympics in the summer of 2024. He has all the tools to develop into a top-class player, and he has been labelled as a “super player” in the past

Joining the Premier League could be ideal for him. Regular football with Tottenham could bring out the best in him and accelerate his development. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can get the deal done.
