ACL and MCL injuries are rife in the Premier League at the moment. Plenty of top stars are on the sidelines with problems of this ilk – today, we’ll be looking at all of them.
Players from clubs such as Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur all feature on this list – but which club has it the worst as things stand?
Fabio Carvalho’s young career has been plagued by injuries – sadly, the 2025/26 season has offered him no reprieve.
He underwent knee surgery to correct the problem, but he won’t be fit to play again until the next campaign.
Josh Dasilva’s triple ACL, MCL and meniscus injury has kept him out of action for almost two years now. He has undergone three surgeries – he could finally make his return this season.
Despite his injury, Brentford have shown faith in him, handing him a new contract in October of 2025 until the end of the season.
Stefanos Tzimas was one of Brighton’s main summer signings. In a cruel twist of fate, he suffered his ACL injury during his first Premier League start in December.
He won’t be back until next season – even then, it’s highly unlikely he will be fit to play at the dawn of the 2026/27 campaign.
Losing Adam Webster was a big blow for Brighton – alongside Lewis Dunk, they each add physicality and height to their backline.
Nevertheless, Webster suffered an ACL injury in pre-season, ruling him out for the entirity of the 2025/26 campaign.
One of the most recent additions to the injury list, Josh Cullen picked up his ACL issue in December of 2025.
Currently, it’s unclear when the Republic of Ireland international will be fit again, but it’s safe to say that his season is over.
Cullen isn’t the only Burnley player with an ACL problem – Zeki Amdouni sustained one in pre-season training with the Clarets.
He could make a return to action this season, but if he does, it won’t happen until the campaign’s final stages.
This was a hammer blow for Chelsea. Levi Colwill is one of their top defenders – however, a severe ACL injury ruled him out for the season.
Like several players in this list, he suffered his injury during pre-season, just after Chelsea had won the Club World Cup.
Chadi Riad is perhaps the most unfortunate player on our list – after recovering from an ACL injury he sustained in 2024, he then suffered an MCL tear in 2025.
Still, at just 22 years of age, he still has his whole career ahead of him – assuming that this pair of injuries won’t have a lasting effect.
Liverpool have taken some criticism for their summer transfer window exploits, but they can’t blamed here – Giovanni Leoni’s ACL injury was nothing but rotten luck.
He sustained the injury before he could even make his Premier League debut – nevertheless, at just 19 years of age, he’ll be back.
The most recent addition to the list – the events surrounding Conor Bradley’s ACL injury were mired in controversy.
In a now-infamous moment, Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli tried to push him off the pitch while he was receiving treatment – it was a tone-deaf move at best from the Brazilian international.
James Maddison has had a history of long-term injuries – sadly, this is nothing new for the Tottenham superstar.
He picked up his ACL tear during a friendly in pre-season against Newcastle United – he won’t be fit to play until next season.
Leon Chiwome has been out for almost a year with his ACL injury – concerningly, a return date for the 19 year old has yet to be publicised.
As such a young player, he has plenty of time to recover, but one can only wonder if it might have a long-term effect on his career.
