Predicted XI: Liam Rosenior to tweak Chelsea’s midfield setup with Enzo out

It’s a big day for Liam Rosenior, who has to try and pick a Chelsea team to get the job done against Man City.

Chelsea have a huge game against Man City today, and are without some key players. Liam Rosenior got some respite from the pressure with a win over Port Vale last week – but lose today and we will be right back in a crisis.

So who does the Chelsea boss pick to try and beat Pep Guardiola’s in form team?

Rosenior forced into new selection by 3 key absences

In goal, it has to be Robert Sanchez despite Filip Jorgensen probably being close to a return from injury.

At right back, Malo Gusto will play with Reece James still out injured. Centre back is a really interesting one. There are no easy selections, but with Trevoh Chalobah still out, we suspect it will be the same pair who faced Port Vale: Wesley Fofana and Tosin Adarabioyo. Marc Cucurella is certain to play at left back.

In midfield, Enzo Fernandez has been suspended by the club for this game. We think Romeo Lavia will play with Moises Caicedo, with Andrey Santos moving forward into a more attacking role.

The attack should have the in-form Estevao and the out-of-form Cole Palmer flanking Joao Pedro who will lead the line.

We all know why Enzo won’t be playing, and that’s been the subject of some controversy.

A big win over Port Vale boosted morale at Chelsea – but a heavy defeat today would unto that in a stroke.
