Milan midfielder Adrien Rabiot did not participate in training with the rest of the France national team on Sunday, as he sat out of Didier Deschamps’s session on precautionary grounds according to the latest updates.

Rabiot doubt for France, but not for Milan

The Rossoneri midfielder was a starter and goalscorer in France’s recent 3-0 victory over Azerbaijan in World Cup qualifying, but was unable to take part in training on Friday due to a small issue with his calf.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of France’s qualifier against Iceland on Monday evening, Deschamps confirmed that Rabiot had taken ‘a knock’, and that he missed Sunday’s training on precautionary grounds.

Reports on Monday suggest that Rabiot’s absence from training is not a major cause for concern for Milan. Given that Kylian Mbappe has already been sent home from the France camp this international break, it is assumed that Rabiot would have also been sent back to Milan had his injury been more serious.

The Frenchman remains a doubt for his nation’s clash against Iceland on Monday evening, but is not a major worry ahead of Milan’s upcoming Serie A test against Fiorentina on Sunday.

Elsewhere for Milan, Rafael Leao has returned to the club after withdrawing from international duty with Portugal.
