Chelsea defender Reece James has been asked about the note that was passed to him by coaches in the Forest win.
The Blues had just played out a terrible first half of football against Nottingham Forest and in all honesty, they were hugely lucky to go in at just 0-0 and not to be losing the game.
And it was James himself who finished off the win for Chelsea after a much improved second half of football by The Blues.
Enzo Maresca, although having to watch from the stands, would have been very much involved in every decision made in the game still and would have been delivering messages to his coaching staff. He made three changes at half time which was very extreme but also, very much needed as well.
The changes basically gave Chelsea their needed boost and made some tactical tweaks as well that saw Chelsea go on and win the game by scoring three goals in the second half.
When the changes were made, a note was passed to captain Reece James with some instructions on, but everyone has been intrigued to know what was said on it.
The club captain was not going to be disclosing any secrets I’m afraid, and he refused to tell a reporter from The Sun what was on that note.
The reporter asked James: “Can we know what the note said?”
Reece James replied: “No, No (laughs).”
There has been quite a few occasions where Maresca has had to have a big half time team talk or make some changes to turn things around in Chelsea games. They seem to struggle in the first half of too many games at the moment, but at least they have the quality and flexibility to change things for the second half.
