Chelsea are expected to make an approach in the coming weeks for AC Milan defender Strahinja Pavlovic according to reports.

Following a quiet January the Blues are once again expected to be busy in the summer, with the squad in desperate need of reinforcements in several key areas.

The Blues are thought to still be in the market for a centre back, whilst it’s understood they want to add another midfielder and attacker.

Chelsea to make approach for Strahinja Pavlovic

Chelsea have struggled defensively this season, and have ultimately paid the price for not signing a replacement for Levi Colwill, who suffered an ACL injury before the start of the season.

The Blues failed in their pursuit of Jeremy Jacquet in January, with the France under-21 international opting to join Liverpool.

Chelsea have been linked with Murillo and Jan Paul van Hecke, but according to Calcio Mercato they are set to make an approach for Pavlovic in the coming weeks.

The report adds Milan’s priority is to extend Pavlovic’s contract until 2031, with his current deal running until 2028, with the option of a further year.

Chelsea have previously been linked with Pavlovic, and the 24-year-old has made 34 appearances in all competitions this season, with Milan sat third in Serie A.

Reece James and Levi Colwill are both back in training and could be part of the squad for Monday’s game against Nottingham Forest.

Colwill hasn’t played all season due to an ACL injury, whilst James hasn’t played since the 1-0 defeat to Newcastle on March 14th.

With the FA Cup final two weeks away, this is a huge boost for Chelsea, and they’ll be hoping James at least can be ready to start that game.
