New Inter Milan signing Manuel Akanji will reportedly slot straight into the starting eleven against Juventus after the international break.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, report that the 30-year-old will get the nod for the Serie A clash amid lingering doubts about Yann Bisseck.

Inter Milan squeezed in one more signing before the end of the transfer window on Monday.

The Nerazzurri signed Manuel Akanji from Manchester City. The Swiss international arrived as more or less a like-for-like replacement for Benjamin Pavard, who joined Marseille.

Therefore, Akanji will compete with Yann Bisseck and Matteo Darmian to start on the right of Inter’s back three.

Manuel Akanji To Start Derby D’Italia Clash Vs Juventus

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Akanji will come straight into the Inter starting eleven.

The Nerazzurri’s next match is a massive one. They take on Juventus in the Derby d’Italia right after the break.

After the shock of last weekend’s loss to Udinese, the pressure is on. And taking on the Bianconeri will only pile on more of it.

The Gazzetta dello Sport report that Inter coach Cristian Chivu still has some doubts about Bisseck. Particularly after a lacklustre defensive performance against Udinese.

Therefore, the newspaper anticipates, the Nerazzurri coach will trust Akanji from the off against Juventus.
