Galatasaray are reportedly “optimistic” that they can make a deal to sign Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.
This according to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb. They report that there is still distance between the Turkish champions and Inter as far as fee, but that it is not unbridgeable.
By now, Galatasaray’s interest in Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is certainly not a secret.
The Turkish champions have made the former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen a top target this summer.
TuttoMercatoWeb confirm that Galatasaray are making a serious effort to sign Calhanoglu.
Having already made one blockbuster deal this summer in the form of Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane, Calhanoglu is the Istanbul giants’ next priority target.
According to TMW, Galatasray are getting ready for talks with Calhanoglu’s agent Gordon Stipic.
The feeling is that Calhanoglu would not turn down a move to Galatasaray should they agree a deal with Inter.
However, there is still work do do in those talks.
Inter reportedly want around €40 million for Hakan Calhanoglu. Meanwhile, Galatasaray are ready to offer around €25-30 million.
However, reports TMW, behind the scenes Galtasaray feel optimistic that they can make progress in negotiations with Inter.
