Report – Inter Milan Could’ve Made One More Summer Signing But Chose To ‘Keep The Powder Dry’

Inter Milan could have reportedly made one more notable signing this summer, but chose to “keep the powder dry.”

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

In the end, Inter finished the transfer window after making five signings.

Deadline day arrival Manuel Akanji joined the likes of Petar Sucic, Luis Henrique, Ange-Yoan Bonny, and Andy Diouf as new arrivals.

However, considering that Akanji’s arrival coincided with the departure of Benjamin Pavard, Inter didn’t really need to make a big investment in signing the Swiss international.

And as Tuttosport note, that left Inter still having some cash to spend.

Inter Could’ve Made One More Summer Signing – But Chose Not To

According to Tuttosport, Inter could’ve potentially made one more signing.

The Nerazzurri had considered investing about €20-25 million before the transfer window closed.

The likeliest plan would have been for Inter to sign a young defender.

However, Inter balked at Rennes’s asking price for defender Jeremy Jacquet. Reportedly, the Lique 1 club wanted €50 million for the 20-year-old.

Then, Inter had doubts about Fenerbahce defender Yusuf Akcicek, even though he would’ve been within reach financially.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri chose to “keep the power dry” according to Tuttosport. They’ll be ready to spend in January, though.
