Inter Milan are reportedly one of four Serie A clubs keen to bring PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma back to his homeland.
Per La Repubblica via FCInterNews, AC Milan, Juventus, and Napoli are the other Italian giants in the mix.
Gianluigi Donnarumma left San Siro to join Les Parisiens in 2021.
However, rumors of his potential return to Italy have resurfaced in recent weeks, fueled by his contract wobble in Paris.
Indeed, his deal at the Parc des Prices is due to expire next summer.
Therefore, he has emerged as a viable target for several top Serie A clubs, including Inter.
Inter are in the market for a long-term replacement for Yann Sommer.
Though Donnarumma ticks all the boxes, his staggering €12 million net per season salary remains a stumbling block.
Furthermore, PSG won’t let their first-choice keeper leave for less than €40m despite his expiring contract.
Meanwhile, Juventus’ interest faded after the Turin side sacked sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli.
On the other hand, Milan may consider Donnarumma’s return if they sell Mike Maignan to Chelsea.
However, they cannot afford his wages.
The same goes for Napoli, who will likely pursue a new stopper if they fail to renew Alex Meret’s contract.
Last but not least, Manchester City could join the picture, even though Pep Guardiola prefers a different type of keeper.
