According to Calciomercato.com, the experienced midfielder has agreed to sign a three-year contract worth €4m per season plus add-ons.

The Rossoneri must now negotiate with Bayer Leverkusen, who have already lost Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong to Liverpool and Jonathan Tah to Bayern Munich.

According to the report, Milan aim to offer €10m to Bayer to convince them to sell the ex-Arsenal star.

Milan have sold Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City and are expected to announce Luka Modric’s free transfer once the Club World Cup is over.
