Napoli are pushing Manchester United for Jadon Sancho, according to Sky Sport Italia, who is stuck in limbo after his Chelsea loan.

The Partenopei are boosting their squad for the Champions League after winning the Serie A title in the debut campaign of coach Antonio Conte.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, having seen Scott McTominay make such a big impression, they are looking to Manchester United again this summer.

The target this time is Sancho, who is desperate to find some stability after a chaotic few years.

Sancho seeking new experience

Manchester United paid €85m to sign him from Borussia Dortmund in 2021, loaned him back to the same club, then to Chelsea last summer.

It was at a cost of €5.9m for the season, but Chelsea are ready to pay another €5m penalty to avoid buying him outright.

This gives Napoli an opportunity to swoop, but the problem – as with Jack Grealish at Manchester City – is the salary, which is considered outlandish for Serie A clubs.

They would need some help from Manchester United to cover up to 50 per cent of his wages if he was on loan with an option to buy.

The winger made 42 competitive appearances this season, with only five goals and 10 assists to show for it.
