Reports in Italy claim that Milan left-back Theo Hernandez already has an agreement on personal terms in place with LaLiga outfit Atletico Madrid, but that there is no deal between the two clubs as things stand.
The Frenchman spent a decade on Atleti’s books as a youth player, and has also represented rivals Real Madrid.
He has also been subject of interest from the Saudi Pro League in recent weeks, but has reportedly turned down an enormous 18m-per-season contract offer from Simone Inzaghi’s Al-Hilal.
That is despite the fact that Al-Hilal and Milan had an agreement in place over a €35m fee for the 27-year-old.
Now, however, it is effectively the opposite situation with Atletico Madrid. Calciomercato.com reports that Theo and Atletico have already found an agreement on personal terms, but there is no agreement with Milan yet.
Calciomercato claims that Atleti have presented two initial offers, one worth €17m and another involving Nahuel Molina plus cash.
Milan, meanwhile, are holding out for a transfer fee in excess of €30m.
