Report: Tottenham eyeing January move for 30-year-old utility man from rival club

Manchester City defender Nathan Ake could leave the club during the January transfer window, and Tottenham Hotspur could return for him, as per CaughtOffside.

They were linked with the player during the summer transfer window as well. The 30-year-old could be a useful option for the North London club. They need more quality and depth in the defensive unit, and the versatile Netherlands International could be the ideal fit.

Nathan Ake would improve Spurs

He is capable of operating centrally as well as on the flanks. He will help and tighten up defensively. He’s also impressive with the ball at his feet, and he could add a new dimension to their playmaking.

The player is well settled in the Premier League, and he could adjust quickly at Tottenham. He has the experience and the quality to help them improve. The player could be available for a fee of just £15-£20 million in January. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can get the deal done. They have the finances to get the deal across the line, and the transfer could prove to be a bargain.

Ake would be a handy option

Apart from his quality as a footballer, his winning experience could prove to be priceless. Tottenham are looking to put together a squad capable of winning major trophies, and having someone who has done that consistently at a high level could prove to be invaluable.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can convince the defender to join the club. He is on the radar of multiple other clubs. Ake will want to compete at a high level where he will be able to fight for trophies, and Tottenham are certainly an attractive destination. They have recently won a European trophy, and they have an ambitious project.
