Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Sporting CP midfielder Morten Hjulmand.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League for months, and it remains to be seen whether his suitors can get the deal done.

Spurs eyeing Morten Hjulmand

As per Ekrem Konur, Tottenham will face competition from Manchester United and Arsenal for his signature. The player has an €80 million release clause in his contract, and Sporting CP will not make it easy for the Premier League trio to sign him.

Hjulmand is a key player for them, and his departure will be a blow for them. They will look to recoup a premium for the Danish midfielder.

Meanwhile, Spurs could use more physicality and defensive cover in the middle of the park, and Hjulmand could be the ideal addition. He has excelled for club and country, and he has the qualities to adapt to the Premier League.

Arsenal and Man United keen on Hjulmand

Cubs like Arsenal and Manchester United will provide tough competition. Hjulmand has worked with Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim, and he might fancy a reunion. On the other hand, he is a boyhood Arsenal fan, and joining them could be tempting for him as well.

Both clubs could use more depth in the midfield, and Hjulmand would improve them as well. It remains to be seen what he decides.

The asking price could be prohibitive to any potential deal. No club will want to pay his release clause and Sporting CP will have to be reasonable with their demands.

Hjulmand will look to take the next step in his career and compete at a higher level. The move to England could be ideal for him at this stage of his career. He is at the peak of his powers and he will look to fight for major trophies.
