Tottenham marked the beginning of the Thomas Frank English Premier League era in style, cruising to a 3-0 victory over Burnley at a raucous Hotspur Stadium. The win not only gave Frank a dream Premier League debut but also ended the club’s four-month league win drought.

Brazilian forward Richarlison wasted no time, breaking the deadlock in the 10th minute, and later capped his two-goal effort with an amazing bicycle kick. Richarlison’s second goal came in the 60th minute with a moment of brilliance, volleying Mohammed Kudus’ cross into the roof of the net. Brennan Johnson added a third shortly after.

Adding an extra storyline to the day, NFL legend and Burnley minority owner J.J. Watt was in attendance cheering on the Clarets.

After the match, Frank addressed the result's significance, “Perfect start or dream start. A good performance against a difficult opponent. I will just enjoy it and I hope the players, the club and the fans enjoy it because that is important.” His praise extended to youth, noting, “Archie Gray did well… young players take a little bit of time… happy with his performance. Lucas overall was very good as well. Top actions from both players.”

Tottenham had a short turnaround from Wednesday’s Super Cup defeat, Frank commended his staff, “It’s never easy in the Premier League… No complaints…big positive our medical department and performance department did a top job to make sure the players were ready to go.”

With Frank’s focus firmly on building momentum, next weekend’s home fixture against Sunderland promises to test the team further as they continue this new chapter.
