Roma aren’t working only on their frontline, where they are closing in on Donyell Malen and Robinio Vaz, but also on their defense and the wings and are eyeing Radu Dragusin and Niccolò Fortini, Corriere dello Sport informs.
The Romanian center-back recently returned following an ACL tear. He’d like to depart to be a regular. He had an inconsistent role beforehand. Several Serie A sides have tested the waters, but he prefers the Giallorossi.
Tottenham shelled out €25M to sign Dragusin from Genoa in 2024 and would like to recoup most of their investment, while Roma have tendered €15M, but through the formula of a loan with an option to buy. They’d have time to evaluate him after a long absence that way.
His agent, Florin Manea, has voiced the center-back’s preference. The two parties could meet in the middle at about €17/18M. Daniele Ghilardi could be sent back to Hellas Verona if the deal comes together.
Gian Piero Gasperini wishes to add another wingback since Kostas Tsimikas hasn’t panned out. Director Frederic Massara is poking around Fortini. He has an expiring contract, and Fiorentina are having trouble reaching an agreement on an extension. He makes just €100k annually. He has played 20 times, assisting once, this season, coming off a very solid year on loan at Juve Stabia in Serie B.
The coach’s antics appear to have had their effect, as their management has gotten a move on. The former was a quality contributor in his previous Italian stops, but he’s a question mark because of all the time he missed. The latter is a fine prospect but isn’t as dynamic as other bright Serie A talents in the same role.
