Roma are refusing to give up on signing Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, reports from Italy claim, despite the player putting talks on hold as he waits to assess his options.
Earlier today on Football Italia, we revealed that Roma had reached an agreement with the Premier League giants for Sancho’s signature but the Englishman stalled talks from his end.
Now, Sky Sport are reporting that Roma refuse to cede defeat in the race for the former Borussia Dortmund forward as new Giallorossi head coach Gian Piero Gasperini attempts to personally convince the player to move to the Italian capital.
It has not just been Gasperini’s Roma in the race for Sancho this summer, with fellow Serie A side Juventus having been in talks with the player earlier in the window. However, things went quiet on that front as the Bianconeri sought to handle player sales before adding more talent to the squad.
With Juventus close to securing the sale of Douglas Luiz to Nottingham Forest, the door may once again open for the Old Lady to pursue Sancho – if they decide they still wish to sign an additional winger.
