Ruben Amorim’s next steps have been uncovered as the Portuguese manager aims to move on from his spell as Manchester United head coach.
Amorim, who had hoped to qualify for Europe this season with the Red Devils, as outlined by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, was sacked in January.
The 41-year-old picked up an average of 1.4 points per game with his team and won just 25 games whilst losing 23 games and drawing 15 times.
In comparison to his previous spells at Sporting CP (2.3 points per game) and Braga (2.4 points per game), it is arguably clear to see how Amorim was underperforming at the club.
Michael Carrick has since come in to replace Ruben Amorim on a temporary basis and has guided his team to an average of 2.2 points per game under his guardianship.
Fans, however, have continued to look towards Amorim with DAZN even predicting that he will become the next Chelsea manager.
These predictions have now been dismissed with A Bola reporting that Ruben Amorim is set to spend next season to strengthen his skills, exchange ideas with other coaches he considers role models, and deepen his knowledge.
The Portuguese outlet have also stated, however, that Amorim is not completely against a managerial spell before the summer of 2027 and a return to Portugal can not be ruled out at this stage.
Amorim has previously been spotted at Clube Atletico e Cultural (CAC), a club where he spent a portion of his youth career as a player.
Although this appeared to be informal, it does demonstrate that the 41-year-old is in Portugal and is active currently.
Benfica has also been a club linked with Amorim but a move looks unlikely unless Jose Mourinho leaves the club at the end of this season.
Ruben Amorim’s next steps now appear clear given the latest reports as he looks to improve upon his spell at Manchester United and prepare for his next journey.
