Andriy Shevchenko believes that there is a lot of ‘confusion’ inside the AC Milan ranks at present, but warned that nobody has a ‘magic wand’ to fix things.
Milan are currently enduring one of their most difficult moments in recent memory, with the team currently ninth in the table and out of the Champions League having been eliminated by Feyenoord.
Not only that, but there is a whirlwind of news surrounding the club, from the Sergio Conceicao spokesperson saga to the talk of infighting within the management.
It is a far cry from the great times seen during the 1990s and 2000s, which Shevchenko was a part of. Now, there is an obligation to finish the season in the best possible way, to salvage some pride.
Shevchenko spoke during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport about the current state of his beloved former club, and he was critical of the current leadership.
How do you see your Milan in this complicated moment?
“I don’t see it that well. The results don’t help, there’s a bit of confusion, there’s a lot of controversy. I say this as a Milan fan, as someone who loves the team, who loves the club and who loves the fans. I think we need to have clearer ideas, especially for next season.”
